Welcome to the Office of Dean of Students (DOSO) at the University of Dar-es-Salaam (UDSM) Main Campus. DOSO is located at main campus a place known as Yombo, the road to Changanyikeni, adjacent to residential Hall VII. If you have any questions or problems and would like to find a solution, you can choose DOSO as your starting point. The basic principle that guides DOSO is provision of high quality services that nurture students to engage in academic and social development. This signifies that, students receive adequate information that helps them to make a smooth transition in the university and beyond. DOSO always responds to the needs of students by connecting them to numerous sources of information and/or services.

Basically, DOSO plays a pivotal role in making life easier for University students by empowering students with adequate knowledge that increases individual strength and confidence so that they feel acceptance at the University. Within an atmosphere of mutual acceptance, DOSO helps students to understand that UDSM is a multicultural community which comprises of ethnic, cultural, academic, religious, political and other diversities. Therefore, students are encouraged to develop the spirit of inclusiveness in order to promote harmonious community which enhances individual participation in the life of the university.Read more
